How rodent control works in Beverly Hills
Most calls we take here fall into a few patterns. Scratching in an attic or crawl space at night. Droppings in a garage or pantry. A dead-animal smell that will not fade. Chewed wires in a car parked in a garage for a few days. Burrow holes along a hedge line or near a pool equipment pad. Each one points to a different fix.
Mice and rats need different handling. Mice are small, breed all year indoors and slip through gaps near 1/4 inch, so they favor attics, garages and pantries. Rats are larger, climb and follow food and water along fence lines, mature trees and hillside landscaping. Our mouse control and rat control visits start from that split.
Beverly Hills' mild, dry climate keeps rodents active outdoors most of the year, and the city's mix of dense flatland lots and wooded hillside estates gives them plenty of cover. Homes near the older Flats streets see more attic and garage activity as mice look for a stable indoor space, while hillside properties near Trousdale Estates and Beverly Park see more roof rat traffic moving through mature trees, hedges and irrigation lines.
| What you notice | Likely animal | Where we start |
|---|---|---|
| Scratching overhead at night | Mice or rats | Attic, eaves, roofline. |
| Small pointed droppings | Mice | Pantry, garage, closet. |
| Burrow holes and gnawed irrigation lines | Rats | Yard, hedges, pool equipment, hillside landscaping. |
| Oily smears along walls | Either | Runways and entry gaps. |
The service follows one order. We inspect to find the entry points and the species, treat the active animals, seal the gaps, and follow up to confirm the activity has stopped. A rodent inspection can be the first step when you do not know where they get in.
Trapping alone rarely ends a problem, because new animals move in through the same gaps. That is why rodent exclusion is part of the plan. If the noise is a night-time emergency, calling the line directly is the fastest route.
